Pro-Nox

Our office is excited to announce we are now offering Pro-Nox for pain management during procedures such as IUD insertions, endometrial biopsies, aesthetics, and more!

What is Pronox?

Pro-Nox, often called “laughing gas,” is a safe, mild analgesic made of 50% nitrous oxide and 50% oxygen. It temporarily blocks pain signals from reaching the brain and helps dissociate the brain’s ability to process pain. Self-administered through a breathing tube, patients can control their level of relief during procedures. This innovative option makes in-office treatments more comfortable and less stressful.

What does Pro-Nox feel like?

Pro-Nox delivers pain relief by reducing the sensation of discomfort, all while keeping you fully conscious—this process is known as analgesia.

Is Pro-Nox safe?

Pro-Nox is a safe and proven method of pain relief, with a long history of use worldwide spanning decades. Studies have shown that it is non-addictive and can even reduce the need for other pain medications, such as oral pills, making it an effective and safer alternative for managing discomfort.

How much does it cost?

Unfortunately, insurance does not cover Pro-Nox, and it must be paid for out of pocket. The cost for using Pro-Nox during IUD insertions and endometrial biopsies is $75. For our Morpheus face and neck procedures, the cost is $150.

What is recovery like?

After your procedure, we will keep you in the office for about 10 minutes to ensure you’re feeling stable. Once that time has passed, you’ll be able to drive yourself home safely, as Pro-Nox does not cause lingering effects that impair your ability to function.

What precautions should be taken when using Pro-Nox?

Our clinicians will ensure you meet the necessary criteria for safe use of Pro-Nox. Contraindications include (but are not limited to) nasal obstruction, severe asthma, pregnancy, emphysema, and any use of home oxygen. Additionally, patients cannot be under the influence of drugs (including narcotics or marijuana) or alcohol while using Pro-Nox.
