What is radiofrequency (RF) and how does the Empower system utilize RF technology?
Radiofrequency technology works by sending a controlled electrical current through a flat
or microneedling handpiece. The current stimulates the target tissues to vibrate at a molecular
level, allowing them to generate their own heat energy. Tissues heated to a precise temperature
in this way will not become burned or damaged, but will initiate a healing response; this
response includes redirecting blood flow to the area and new cellular growth and collagen
formation. These factors encourage a healthy vaginal tissue structure that is thicker, more
flexible, and better able to self-lubricate.
Lasers initiate this process by transferring heat to the tissues via light energy. RF
treatments, particularly when paired with microneedling through Morpheus 8-V, have an
